RTI Pick 6: Championship Week Edition

Bob Stoops-1

Oklahoma State vs No. 20 Oklahoma (-21) 3:30 pm Saturday Fox Sports 1

Daniel: It’s been a disappointing season for both teams on a lot of levels. Oklahoma was a chic national title pick before the season, but the Sooners have dropped some unexplainable ones and are now fighting to finish the season in the top 25. It’s worse for Oklahoma State, which needs to upset the three-touchdown favorite Sooners to avoid missing the postseason for the first time since 2015. As many rivalry games go, I think OSU will make this one closer than some of the experts think, but there just isn’t a ton of reason to believe that the Cowboys will be able to pull this one off. Winner: Oklahoma 35-24

Houston:  Oklahoma State…what happened to you? Hard to believe we are even picking this game considering the 21-point spread. I actually think that this may be the largest Pick-6 spread we have had all season…in case you were wondering just how far Oklahoma State had fallen. I expect the Sooners to run the ball with ease all night and Oklahoma State to turn the football over with regularity in this game. No contest. Winner: Oklahoma 45-13

Reed: This game just doesn’t have a ton of shine. The Cowboys have followed up a 10-3 campaign with a miserable 5-6 season thus far. Oklahoma was everyone’s preseason pick to represent the Big 12 (10) in the college football playoff. Yet they’ve lost three games. Let’s call this one the underachieving bowl – and, outside of Mark Richt, Bob Stoops is the best underachiever in America. Winner: Sooners 38-17

Richard: The Cowboys enter the game on a five game losing streak, needing a win to become bowl eligible. Nothing would make Oklahoma happier than to put an end to their rival’s season on Saturday. The Sooners have won 11 straight against unranked opponents. Oklahoma State has lost 5 straight at Oklahoma.

Both teams enter the game with questions at QB. The difference is Oklahoma has a very talented running attack that to lean on. Freshman running back Samaje Perine has rushed for 640 yards and eight scores in the Sooners last two games. The Sooners will control the game with their ground attack, and their defense will cause the Cowboys struggling offense all kinds of problems. Oklahoma wins big. Winner: Oklahoma 42-14
