A: I would say that they have a chance, but with Butch Jones going all in on Drew Richmond this weekend and reportedly canceling a visit to see Allen on Friday, it looks like they have put all of their eggs in the Drew Richmond basket at this point.
That isn’t to say that they couldn’t still land Allen, but the vibe this weekend was that it was Richmond or bust at offensive tackle for the Vols. That being said, the decommitment of Bussey does – seemingly – open up a spot for Allen in the class if he did decided to join, regardless of what Richmond decides to do. Some have said that Tennessee has had Allen in a holding pattern for the last month until they were 100-percent certain on Richmond one way or the other. While that is hard to believe, I think it is foolish to write it off completely given this staff’s success on the recruiting trail.
A lot of words to say that it appears the Vols are swinging for the fences with Richmond, but may end up with a stand-up double with Allen – with a fly out to shallow right field still on the table as well.
