RTI’s Take:

Daniel: McKenzie is about as close to a sure-fire prospect as there is. Sure, anything can happen, but he’s the type of player where it would be surprising if he doesn’t turn into an All-SEC type of performer and a future NFL draft pick. He’s that good. He has size, a ton of athleticism for his frame, great bloodlines, a strong work ethic and the mentality you want in a defensive lineman. He needs to drop some weight since he’s in the 350-370 range right now. But if he can get down to a comfortable 320-330 range, there’s no reason he can’t be in the defensive tackle rotation at minimum next year and be a force in the years to come.

Reed:I don’t recall Tennessee signing a more dominant defensive tackle prospect. He regularly made the top 2015 prospects in the nation look like rag dolls on the camp circuit and his strength numbers are on par with established college veterans. He needs to cut some weight, but that shouldn’t be a problem once he enrolls. McKenzie has violent hands, plus speed and fantastic drive. He should play early and often for the Vols at defensive tackle.
