Top QB Targets for 2016

Dwayne Haskins
Potomac, MD.
6-3, 185 pounds
★★★

Thoughts: A little Twitter detective work showed that some important people at UT started following Haskins on Twitter in the past few weeks (presumably as they figured out that Kendall might be moving on). He’s a top-tier prospect – checking in the top 70 nationally on ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports and his junior film is impressive. He does a little bit of everything, lining up in the gun, the pistol and under center. He has a quick release, throws an accurate ball and runs to set up his throws. If you’re looking for a knock on him, maybe it’s that he’s in the 6-2 to 6-3 range instead of prototypical size, but that really isn’t a reason that he can’t be a hugely successful quarterback in this day and age. He pretty much has his pick of schools nationally, and Big 10 teams like Ohio State, Penn State and Maryland are all in the thick of it for him. He’s worth watching for Tennessee now, but the Vols have to get him to campus to have any kind of shot to be in it.
