7. South Carolina has big questions at QB, defense
Steve Spurrier has vowed to fix the defense and says he, and the Gamecocks, aren’t going anywhere after their disappointing campaign in 2014. The issues are huge, however. SC had one of the worst defenses in the country last year, and there’s no definitive proof that the Gamecocks will be better on that side of the ball. Quarterback is an issue as well with Dylan Thompson moving on.
Spurrier likes some of his options, but there’s not much experience at that spot. The Gamecocks have some nice pieces and it’s foolish to rule the Ol’ Ball Coach out of anything, however the Gamecocks have some major issues to overcome to win the East.
