The Vols added a 6-4, 290-pound brick to the 2016 class this morning when D’Andre Christmas-Giles, a defensive tackle from New Orleans, committed to Tennessee. Butch Jones and Company offered Christmas-Giles just five days ago and Christmas-Giles chose his birthday to go ahead and make his commitment official.

Rated as a 2-star by 247Sports and Rivals.com, Christmas-Giles earned a 3-star ranking from the 247Sports Composite. He has offers from Colorado State, Kansas, Western Kentucky and others. Tennessee was the first SEC program to offer him back on August 24th. His commitment gives the Vols 16 commitments in the 2016 recruiting class.

Christmas-Giles sat out last season after transferring to St. Augustine and has only recently been receiving interest from programs like Texas, LSU and Mississippi State.
