Coaching
We’ve been as critical as anybody over some of the coaching decisions in UT’s three losses this season. And, truthfully, most of us questioned the decision to punt late when a few inches would’ve guaranteed a victory. But coaching comes down to results, and though it got shaky in the last few seconds, the Vols, a team that had developed a national reputation for finding ways not to win, finally finished one off on Saturday. And while it was easy to question and criticize the Vols for getting down 24-3, even more credit must be given for this staff finding a way to keep the team believing. The defense, especially, needs some work if the Vols want to finish strong this year, but Saturday was a nice step for Mike DeBord and the overall offense.
