Limited in the run game as the Vols looked to protect him and get him 100% healthy for the final two SEC games, Joshua Dobbs was asked to sit in the pocket more than normal and make throws from there. The results weren’t very impressive. Dobbs completed 15-of-23 passes for just 136 yards, no touchdowns and threw an interception before halftime that likely cost the Vols points. He was regularly inaccurate and some of his bright spots only came when he did escape the pocket and made some throws on the run. Dobbs’ struggles were at least partially the reason that Quinten Dormady didn’t see much action and was only able to throw five passes late in the game.
