10. Tennessee vs. Michigan, Citrus Bowl
Few are projecting Tennessee the Citrus Bowl at this point, but we don’t think it can be completely ruled out. They key point to remember here is that the Citrus Bowl can make whatever selection it wants of any SEC team not in the playoffs or a New Year’s Six Bowl. They want to fill their stadium, they want good ratings and they want buzz. Florida might be a more natural fit, but a Tennessee fanbase swarming to Orlando to fill hotels and the stadium for a matchup against a team like Michigan would be something they’d have to consider. It’s low on the list in terms of probability, but like the TaxSlayer Bowl selection last year, crazy things do happen. This matchup could potentially also happen in the Outback Bowl, though we’re not sure if Michigan would fall to that or not at this point.
