OLB: 1. Jalen Reeves-Maybin 2. Cortez McDowell
OLB: 1. Kenny Bynum 2. Dillon Bates
ILB: 1. Darrin Kirkland Jr. 2. Colton Jumper
Thoughts: I feel good about saying that Kirkland will be the primary inside linebacker and Reeves-Maybin will be the primary outside linebacker in the nickel look. But when the Vols go to a true 4-3 look, which they very well may do more of under new coordinator Bob Shoop, the third linebacker is anybody’s guess at this point. Bynum is the most experienced third option. They could put him and Kirkland Jr. inside and then slide JRM out in coverage in that look. Dillon Bates, Cortez McDowell, Quart’e Sapp, Elliott Berry and others could all be in play too.
