Tennessee certainly missed point guard Lamonte Turner, who was ineligible for the 2015-16 season and left the Vols in a bit of a bind at that position.
But based on the video posted by teammate Kyle Alexander on Thursday evening, Turner might be worth the wait. The former No. 23 overall PG in the nation, per 247Sports, hits seven consecutive 3-pointers in this clip with little sign of slowing down.
Obviously, it’s the offseason, practice and he’s shooting uncontested – so no reason to pencil him onto the All-SEC Team or anything like that, but he does show a very nice stroke here. Combine that with positive reports about how he looked in practice last year and the fact that the Vols literally did not have a point guard on the team last year, and there are plenty of reasons to be excited about Turner joining the lineup in 2016-17.
