Tennessee secured its eighth commitment of the 2017 class when 3-star athlete Jacquez Jones committed to Tennessee via Twitter on Friday afternoon.

The Clearwater, Florida native plays wide receiver and cornerback. 247sports.com has him listed as a corner, while Rivals.com rates Jones as a wide receiver. Jones stands at 5 foot 11, 164 pounds according to Rivals. He unofficially visited Tennessee back in late March.
Larry Scott and Zach Azzani recruited Jones to Tennessee. Jones has offers from 18 schools, including Wisconsin, Miami, Kentucky and Cincinnati.
Jones is the latest Florida native to be brought to Tennessee by Larry Scott. In his first couple of months on campus, Scott helped secure the signatures of South Florida natives Tyler Byrd and Latrell Williams. Jacquez Jones is Tennessee’s only commit from Florida in the 2017 class.
