1. The Vols are the true front runners in the East
The media picked the Vols to make it to Atlanta. It was easy to question that through three up-and-down performances early in the season. But Tennessee’s win over Florida, combined with Georgia’s poor showing in a 45-14 loss to Ole Miss, puts UT’s in great shape in the East early in the season. Next weekend’s trip to Athens will be another big showdown in this capacity, but Tennessee will essentially have a two-game lead over the contenders in the East if the Vols pull out the win in Athens.
