3. LB Cortez McDowell
Both starting linebackers, Jalen Reeves-Maybin and Darrin Kirkland Jr., are now confirmed out by Butch Jones. Colton Jumper has really stepped up at inside linebacker, but the Vols need better play from the others spot after they got exposed there at Georgia at times. McDowell has played enough this season that he should be considered a regular, so whether it’s him, Dillon Bates, Elliott Berry or anybody else at that spot, UT needs better play against an explosive A&M offense.
