    Quarterbacks

The Vols have had two quarterbacks transfer since Butch Jones became head coach. Nathan Peterman made a couple starts and made appearances in a few other games in two seasons with Tennessee while Riley Ferguson transferred after spring practices heading into his sophomore year at Tennessee.

Peterman transferred to Pittsburgh and put together a very solid career with the Panthers. In his two seasons with Pitt, Peterman completed 365 of his 602 passes for 4,889 yards, 46 touchdowns, and just 14 interceptions. He also ran for 524 yards and three scores on 155 carries.

Ferguson, meanwhile, finally saw his first season of action at Memphis this year after sitting out the 2015 season. In his first year with the Tigers, Ferguson threw for 3,698 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while completing 280 of his 443 pass attempts. He also ran for four more touchdowns.
