 Receivers/Tight Ends

WR: 1. Jauan Jennings 2. Jeff George
WR: 1. Josh Smith 2. Brandon Johnson/Marquez Callaway
WR: 1. Tyler Byrd  2. Latrell Williams
TE: 1. Ethan Wolf 2. Jakob Johnson

Thoughts: With Josh Malone going pro and Preston Williams out of the equation after his mid-season transfer, there aren’t as many options heading into 2017. Jennings, who emerged as a big-time playmaker in 2016, is about the only sure bet. Smith, the most experienced of the bunch, will be coming off a surgery, and the position future of Byrd is still to be determined since the Vols also need help at cornerback. Some young players will need to emerge. Whether that be second-year players such as Johnson, Williams or Callaway, or an incoming freshman like Jordan Murphy, the Vols need some new names and faces to show up next season to help out a new quarterback.
