Fearless Predictions For Tennessee’s Signing Class

2. Jordan Murphy will be a stud, but not this season

Josh Malone’s draft declaration left Zach Azzanni’s WRU in a slightly depleted state. Jauan Jennings will assume the reigns of the group, barring any further legal issues. Outside of him, there’s Josh Smith (coming off an injury), Tyler Byrd (who may play elsewhere on the field) and a group of young reserves for Tennessee: Brandon Johnson, Marquez Callaway, and Latrell Williams, who all have major impact potential, but are still unproven. Enter Jordan Murphy, the highest rated wide receiver of Butch Jones’ class and absolute beast out of Hattiesburg, Miss. With over 1600 yards and 21 touchdowns during his senior season alone, there’s a lot to like about this signee. But he has some depth and some size issues to fight through. Knowing this team, they’ll likely lose a couple stars to injury and Murphy will make his debut sometime late during the 2017 season, giving him extreme breakout potential in 2018 or later.
