1. Quinten Dormady

When you have a perfect day on the field, it’s hard not to say you’re the biggest winner of the day. And that’s exactly the case for junior quarterback Quinten Dormady.

Dormady was a perfect 10-for-10 on the day, throwing for 120 yards and two scores. Not only that, but Dormady also won the quarterback skills competition as well, beating out the other competitors at the end thanks to his successful Hail Mary pass.

Dormady will still have to fight off Jarrett Guarantano in the fall for the starting quarterback spot. But Dormady appeared to take a step forward in the race on Saturday.

2. Darrell Taylor

If there was a defensive MVP on Saturday, it was defensive end Darrell Taylor. Although Taylor wasn’t on the field a ton, he made his presence felt when he was.

Taylor earned all two of the defense’s sacks and had two of the team’s four tackles for loss. Taylor will be asked to step up in a big way this year with the departures of Derek Barnett, Corey Vereen, and LaTroy Lewis from the roster. And he flashed his potential on Saturday.

3. Carlin Fils-Aime

Tennessee only had one active scholarship running back, and that running back had a solid outing during the Orange and White Game. Sophomore Carlin Fils-Aime was the only scholarship running back to participate on Saturday thanks to John Kelly being a late scratch from the lineup, and Fils-Aime was by far the most productive back on the field.

Fils-Aime ran the ball seven times and totaled 32 yards, adding one reception for six yards as well. Fils-Aime had the most total yards by any offensive player on Saturday, and his toughness showed on several of his runs.

John Kelly will be the definite starter once the season begins. But Fils-Aime will have to hold off freshman Ty Chandler in the fall for the main backup role, and he gave himself a boost in the competition on Saturday.
