The in-state group of recruits for the 2019 recruiting cycle is chock full of talented players. This year more than ever, recruiting inside their state’s own borders will be imperative for the Vols. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, 18 players in the state of Tennessee are rated as four-stars, and 23 total players are ranked inside the top 500 overall recruits in the 2019 class.
Landing players from inside the state of Tennessee will be of the utmost importance for the Vols. And Tennessee’s new coaches understand that.
Tennessee has a multitude of prospects on campus this weekend for their second Junior Day of the year. The Vols hosted a large number of recruits last week, but the list of 2019 and 2020 prospects on campus this weekend is even bigger.
And a large number of those recruits on campus are players within Tennessee’s own border.
The Vols have several out of state players on campus this weekend, but they’re showing that in-state recruiting is a high priority by hosting 11 in-state prospects this weekend as well. And several of those players are four-star recruits, and many are at positions of need.
