If you’re looking for some more clarity at this unit after fall camp, then I apologize.

Tennessee’s offensive line has worked out multiple players at multiple positions this fall, but we do have a little better grasp on where some guys are likely going to play to start the season. Brandon Kennedy is for sure the starting center, and Ryan Johnson and Riley Locklear have been working at guard a lot.

But the rest? Well, the rest depends on where Trey Smith ends up.

Smith is undoubtedly starting for the Vols this year, but the big question is where. He’s been practicing primarily on the left side of the line, but he’s seen time at both tackle and guard. If he ends up at tackle, then Drew Richmond could end up at the other tackle spot or could slide inside to guard. If Smith plays guard, then Richmond and Chance Hall (as long as he stays healthy) could be UT’s tackles.

Regardless of who fits in where, Tennessee’s starting five will likely include a combo of the following: Trey Smith, Drew Richmond, Brandon Kennedy, Ryan Johnson, and either Chance Hall or Riley Locklear.

Jahmir Johnson has looked good in the fall, and Marcus Tatum is still in the two-deep as well. Jerome Carvin will fit in somewhere along the line as well, and K’Rojhn Calbert has had a promising fall too.
