The Vols needed to do more than get a moral victory at some point this season, and they did just that on Saturday against a ranked SEC opponent on the road. There’s plenty you can critique from this game, but ultimately the good far outweighed the bad, and Tennessee put together their best team effort of the season. The offense clicked in a way it hadn’t all year, and the defense showed another gear in the second half. Tennessee looked like the better coached team on Saturday, and they played more cohesively than Auburn.

Saturday couldn’t have gone any better for Tennessee. The Vols exorcised many, many demons and took a gigantic step in the right direction. Obviously, there are things to correct, but the good outweighs the bad. On top of Tennessee upsetting a top-25 team on the road, Jeremy Pruitt picking up his first SEC win, Jarrett Guarantano having a career-game, WRU showing signs of being back, a bowl game is now on the radar.
