This was easily the most complete game the Vols have played probably since 2016 or maybe even 2015. The offense made plenty of big plays, and the defense more than held their own and stifled Kentucky’s offense. Tennessee could’ve dumped on more points if they wanted to, but they played more conservative in the second half and just tried to grind out the victory. And that’s what they did. Tennessee now is just a win away from a bowl game, and that would be a huge accomplishment for Pruitt and his staff in Year One.

Things couldn’t have gone better for Tennessee on Saturday. With several high-level recruits in the stadium, the Vols dominated No. 11 Kentucky, spoiling its hopes of a 10-2 season and going to a New Years Six Bowl. Not only did the Vols play spoiler, but Tennessee is now one win away from a bowl game, something that didn’t seem possible at times this season.
