The Lady Vols took the court for the first time since their upset victory over No. 15 Notre Dame on Monday, and after a sluggish start, ended up rolling over Tennessee State.
Tennessee (4-0) defeated the Tigers (1-1) 73-43 in Thompson-Boling Arena on Thursday night. But after the game, one of the main focuses of head coach Kellie Harper’s post-game press conference had nothing to do with the game on the court.
On Wednesday night, UConn women’s basketball head coach Geno Auriemma made some strong comments about the culture of the Lady Vols under former head coach Holly Warlick and got heated about UT Athletics Director Phillip Fulmer as well. Harper was asked about those comments after the game, and she also gave her thoughts on her team’s performance on Thursday night.
