Though his debut campaign didn’t quite go as well as Vol fans were hoping, Aubrey Solomon still had an impact on Tennessee’s defensive line and slowly got better. Injuries nagged him and kept him from reaching his full potential, but that potential is pretty high.

In 12 games, including nine starts, Solomon wound up with 28 tackles, two sacks, three tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery. He was one of the mainstays on Tennessee’s makeshift defensive line that had to replace every starter from the previous season.

The former five-star who transferred from Michigan should be able to build off his first season with the Vols and take another step to realizing his ceiling. He’s a big lineman at 6-foot-5, 315 pounds, and he has the ability to be a force along the interior.

If Solomon has a solid senior season and establishes himself as one of Tennessee’s best defensive linemen, chances are an NFL team will take a chance on him.
