Bears vs. Titans Game Preview
The Titans welcome the vaunted Chicago Bears defense in week 10 NFL action. This will be an interesting matchup where oddsmakers have the Titans as rather large favorites. The Bears are 5-3 but most experts say they are lucky to be that fortunate. Nick Foles has looked overmatched since taking over the starting quarterback role. The offensive line is mostly to blame here as the immobile Nick Foles has been under siege.
The total points are set at a reasonable 46.5 in this contest. The Titans still do not have much of a pass rush which we talked about in their last game. The Titans are coming off of a disappointing loss to Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals. Their inability to rush the passer has continued for several weeks and they did not make a trade before the deadline. The Titans will need to muster up some pass rush if they want to cover a 7 point spread in Tennessee.

NFL Week 9 Injury Report
Chicago Bears
T Bobby Massie is on IR and has been seriously missed on the Bears offensive line.
QB Mitch Trubisky came in for one play last week before exiting and not returning. He has been sent for different MRI’s on his shoulder and is expected to miss multiple weeks with a shoulder/labrum injury. It is NIck Foles’ team for a while.
WR Anthony Miller is probable to play this week but has been banged most of the season. He appears to have lost the #2 receiver spot to rookie standout Darnell Mooney.
C Cody Whitehair tested positive for COVID-19 and will not play this week for the Bears. Another huge blow for the Bears offensive line, Foles is lucky that the Titans pass rush is not near the top in the league.
Tennessee Titans
DE Jadeveon Clowney is the only major pass rusher on the Titans. He is probable to play this weekend after a knee injury. He will be crucial to the Titans future success.
P Ben Kern is out this week for the Titans. They have worked multiple different punters in advance of this week’s game. Expect them to sign one sooner rather than later.
WR Adam Humphries took a scary hit last week and did not return to the game. He has not yet cleared concussion protocol and is not practicing. It would appear that he is not going to play in this one.
AFC South Standings After Week 7
- Tennessee Titans 5-2
- Indianapolis Colts 5-2
- Houston Texans 1-6
- Jacksonville Jaguars 1-6
Implied Winning Probability
Implied winning probability shows the true percentage chance that each bet has of cashing. The Tennessee Titans are big favorites to win this weekend’s matchup. They are -275 to win this Sunday’s game against the Bears. This means that they have a 73.33% chance to win the game. The 5-3 Bears are +230 underdogs in this one. That would give them a 30.30% chance to win.
DraftKings Sportsbook is charging a 3.63% vig for this game. Bettors will always want to calculate implied winning probability to show the true odds to win a bet. Be advised that parlay bets will always see vigs compounded. Before placing multiple leg parlay bets, calculate implied winning probability and reassess the bet.
Betting Trends
The Bears are 30th in yards per play; Titans defense is 22nd.
The Titans defense has been one of the worst in the NFL this season. They are 27th in passing yards allowed and 24th in rushing yards allowed. The Bears offense has been a mess in their own right. They are 30th in passing yards, rushing yards, and yards per play. Being near the bottom of the league in these categories while being 5-3 is truly remarkable.
Bears Offensive Line vs. Titans Pass Rush
The Bears offensive line has been abysmal this season. Bobby Massie is out for the Bears forcing them to start Jason Spriggs at Tackle. Pro Football Focus gives Spriggs a 40.8 rating which is well below average. Furthermore, Cody Whitehair is out for the Bears with a COVID-19 positive test. This will be another difficult outing for Nick Foles.
Titans have given up at least 27 points in 5 of 7 games
Former Patriots linebacker has put together one of the worst defenses in the NFL. This reality is showcased by 4 games allowing over 30 points. Their secondary is a disaster and they get little to no pass rush despite Jadeveon Clowney being signed in the offseason.
DraftKings Best Bet: Titans -6.5
