Seven Former Vols Set for NBA Summer League Competition

Whether they are returning to the NBA or coming in fresh off of Rocky Top, seven former Tennessee Volunteers are set for NBA Summer League action this July.

Representing the 2022 SEC Tournament champions, former Vol Kennedy Chandler will be making his professional debut when he suits up for the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.

Two former one-and-done players from Tennessee, Keon Johnson and Jaden Springer, will each be returning for their sophomore season in the NBA when they take the court.

And lastly, four former Vols from Tennessee’s 2018 SEC championship team will also be playing in the upcoming summer league: Admiral Schofield, Yves Pons, Jordan Bone, and Kyle Alexander.

  • Yves Pons – Brooklyn Nets

Tuesday night will feature a matchup between two former Vols as Chandler’s Grizzlies take on Springer’s 76ers. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

For those who are already itching for a little Tennessee basketball action, a former Tennessee player will be playing in the NBA summer league every day for 11 straight days starting on Tuesday night.
