Tennessee Baseball Lands Class of 2024 Pitcher Anson Seibert

Tennessee and head coach Tony Vitello landed a big-time prospect on the recruiting trail over the weekend. On Sunday, class of 2024 pitcher Anson Seibert officially announced his commitment to Tennessee Baseball.

“I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic career at The University of Tennessee,” Seibert said in a Twitter post while tagging Tennessee. “I’d like to thank all of my coaches, friends, and teammates for believing in me and supporting me. Go Vols!

The 6-foot-8, 235-pound right-hander is one of the top prospects from the state of Kansas. The Overland Park, Kansas native plays his high school ball at Blue Valley Southwest High School and plays his travel ball for the KC Royals Scout Team. Seibert has also played the third base position in the infield.

According to Prep Baseball Report, Seibert has a fastball that sits in the 89.9-91.1 mph range. Seibert also has a changeup in the 80.1-82.6 mph range and a slider just a tick above in the 81.3-82 mph range.

In one scouting report from Perfect Game, Seibert is noted as an “exciting young prospect with virtually limitless ceiling/potential.” The right-hander is also said to be a great student in the classroom.

Primary right-handed pitcher with a compact delivery and an extremely short arm action,” Seibert’s Showcase Report from Perfect Game states. “High and tight release from the ear, uses a slight coil of the hips with a long stride down the mound. Gets a tad towards the first base side on the foot strike, could stay more directional with the plate. High intent thrower with a quick arm, creates a tough downhill angle from an over-the-top slot.”
