Tennessee knocked off then-No. 3 Alabama Saturday evening, its first win over the Crimson Tide since 2006. It’s a win Tennessee fans and former players have long been waiting for and Vols’ head coach Josh Heupel acknowledged as much postgame.

“Tonight was obviously for our players, but it’s for our former players,” Heupel said. “It’s for our donors. It’s for our fans. I know how much this has meant to the people of Tennessee and Vol nation. So excited that we were able to come out with a win for everyone involved. It was a great night.”
