Sunday Night Football Preview: Packers 4.5-point Favorites Over Lions

The Lions and Packers have had similar up-and-down seasons. Both hold the ultimate roller coaster record of 8-8 coming into this matchup. Despite being ruled out multiple times at various points during the season, both have a glimmer of hope to make the playoffs if they pull out the victory in this contest.

If the Packers win on Sunday, they’re in the playoffs. If the Lions win, they’re in the playoffs as long as the Seahawks lose earlier on Sunday. The Seattle Seahawks play at home against the 5-11 Las Angeles Rams. Currently, FanDuel has the Seahawks as 6-point favorites. However, the Seahawks barely escaped the Rams in their previous matchup, and that was before QB Baker Mayfield was picked up off waivers. The Seahawks have also gone 1-3 since that game, so there is a chance for an upset.

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers have been finding ways to win games as of late and have won four in a row. Although the wins are stacking up lately, Rodgers’ performances have still been somewhat pedestrian given the caliber of QB he is known to be. It’s been the combination of RBs AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones that has spearheaded the Packers’ recent offensive success.

Although the Lions are not the stoutest rushing defense, they have had success down the stretch of the season. With the exception of Bears QB Justin Fields’ big performance running the ball last week, the Lions have done a pretty solid job of limiting the run game recently. They limited the Packers’ rushing duo the first time around, so the groundwork is there.

On the offensive side of the ball, Jared Goff has been as hot as any QB in football. In his last five showings, he has thrown for 1,532 yards, 12 touchdowns, and zero interceptions. The Lions are also 4-1 in that stretch. Considering Goff’s hot streak and the Lions’ defensive success against the run the last couple of weeks, the Lions (+198) on the Moneyline is a good wager to consider.

If you use your $1,000 No Sweat First Bet and win, that will total $1,980 in winnings. If it loses, you get it right back in bet credits. This is a low-risk, high-reward opportunity waiting for your decision.
