At the time of this writing, both games have spreads of a field goal or less according to BetMGM Sportsbook. Both totals are below 48 points, in part due to the injury to Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes and an NFC battle featuring two strong defenses.

NFC Championship Odds

Point Spread: Philadelphia -3

Moneylines: PHI (-150) | SF (+125)

Point Total: 45.5

What to Watch: Both defenses stifled their opponents after strong showings in the Wild Card round. San Francisco held Dak Prescott and the Cowboys to 12 points and less than 300 yards of total offense. This came after a 31-point, 425-yard performance against Tampa Bay the previous week.

Philadelphia dominated the Giants on both sides of the ball. New York managed 13 first downs and less than 250 total offensive yards on their way to seven points while the Eagles’ offense racked up over 400 yards, most of which came on the ground.

For this game, the key battle to watch will be the running games for both teams. When Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has been healthy, Philadelphia averages the second-most rushing yards per game at 163.9. During the regular season, San Fran was tied for the fewest yards per carry (3.4) and allowed the second-fewest rushing yards on the season (1,321).

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan has had one of the best rushing offenses for years and will be giving the inconsistent Eagles’ run defense a huge test.

This game will also mark just the third time quarterback Brock Purdy will be leaving the confines of San Francisco. Can his historic run continue on the road in a hostile environment?

AFC Championship Odds

Point Spread: Kansas City -1

Moneylines: KC (-110) | CIN (-110)

Point Total: 47

What to Watch: This game is incredibly straightforward and comes down to one thing: how effective can Patrick Mahomes be with his high-ankle sprain? This type of injury can take upwards of a month or longer to fully recover from so his mobility and improvising outside of the pocket will be impacted at the very least.

On the other side, we just saw an impressive performance from Cincinnati’s defense, holding one of the best offenses in the league to a mere 10 points and 325 yards of offense.

Kansas City’s pass rush will have to get after Bengals QB Joe Burrow and cause turnovers to put Mahomes and company in advantageous positions regarding both field position and time of possession. The Chiefs rank 20th in defensive pass DVOA and allowed the most passing touchdowns during the regular season. In this matchup last year, Burrow put up 250 yards and two scores on the way to a 27-24 victory.
