Where Tennessee Stands In Bracketology With One Week Left In Regular Season

There’s just one week left in the college basketball regular season as Tennessee prepares for the home stretch of its regular season against Arkansas and Auburn.

While Tennessee has no SEC Championship repercussions to play for, there is conference and NCAA Tournament seeding up in the air.

So where is Tennessee projected to land in the NCAA Tournament with one week left in the regular season?

In ESPN’s bracketology, the Vols are a three-seed in the East Regional with a first round projected matchup against 14-seed Furman in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Paladins won the SoCon regular season championship on the final day of the regular season against Samford.

According to Joe Lunardi, Tennessee would face the winner of six-seed Creighton and 11-seed Nevada in the Round of 32 if they got past the Paladins.

Other top teams in the East Regional include No. 1 seed Purdue, No. 2 seed Kansas State, No. 4 seed UConn and No. 5 seed Miami.

Tennessee is one of eight SEC teams in the field including one-seed Alabama, six-seed Kentucky, eight-seed Arkansas, eight-seed Missouri, eight-seed Texas A&M, 11-seed Mississippi State and 11-seed Auburn.

In CBS’ bracketology, Tennessee is the four-seed in the East Regional where they would face 13-seed Southern Miss in Greensboro, North Carolina.

According to Jerry Palm, Tennessee would face the winner of five-seed San Diego State and 12-seed VCU in the Round of 32 if they got past Southern Miss.

Other top teams in the East Regional include No. 1 seed Kansas, No. 2 seed Marquette, No. 3 seed Gonzaga and No. 6 seed Duke.

The Vols are one of eight SEC teams in the field including one-seed Alabama, six-seed Kentucky, six-seed Missouri, seven-seed Texas A&M, nine-seed Arkansas, 10-seed Auburn and 11-seed Mississippi State.

Tennessee returns to the court Tuesday night against Arkansas at Thompson-Boling Arena. Tip-off is at 9 p.m. ET with Karl Ravech, Jimmy Dykes and Marty Smith on the call for ESPN2.
