Wimbledon Odds and Preview

Novak Djokovic has won Wimbledon four years in a row, and he’s the odds-on favorite to make it five this year. With many of his biggest foes on grass out of his way this summer, who can stop the 23-time Grand Slam champion? Here are some other bets to consider when looking at the enormous FanDuel Sportsbook wagering menu.

Quarter 3: Taylor Fritz to Reach the Semifinals (+650)

The American draws a difficult first-round opponent in Yannick Hanfmann, who is coming off a deep run in Mallorca, but assuming he comes through that he won’t have to really face a good player until the fourth round, where he’s either going to draw Sinner or perhaps Evans. You’d favor last year’s quarterfinalist to come through that match considering his serve-forehand combo is one of the biggest in the game.

Fritz is the best player in this quarter — at least on a grass court — so getting him at this price is a no-brainer.

Women’s Champion: Petra Kvitova (+1400)

The 33-year-old always plays her best tennis on grass, and she is a two-time champion at Wimbledon.

Although she may not be in the absolute prime of her career at this point, Kvitova certainly can’t be discounted. She won the Miami Open this spring, and her preparation for Wimbledon was highlighted by a grass-court title in Berlin. Kvitova did not lose a single set throughout her week in Berlin, so she is storming into the All-England Club with a lot of confidence.

Marc-Andrea Huesler ML (+106) vs Yosuke Watanuki

World No. 81 Marc-Andrea Huesler has two strong wins on grass behind him so far this swing, beating Maxime Cressy at ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Ryan Peniston in Eastbourne last week. The Swiss burst into form on the indoor hardcourt swing late last season, upsetting Holger Rune to win the Sofia Open title, but he has so far struggled to find his best level in 2023. World No. 116 Yosuke Watanuki made his Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open in January, upsetting Arthur Rinderknech in straight sets, and he qualified well this week to make the main draw for the first time at SW19. A first meeting between the two should see sets go both ways with the breathing room of five but back Huesler to earn at least two sets as the likelier of the two to come through.
