Gold Cup Final Odds and Betting Preview
The USMNT will look to erase the sour taste of being eliminated in the World Cup by winning the Gold Cup. To do so, the US must defeat Canada for the second time in three weeks thanks to a 2-0 victory in the Nations League final back in June. Given the play of US goalkeeper Matt Turner, Canada is going to be hard-pressed to put goals on the board. Turner has back-to-back shutouts en route to becoming the fastest in USMNT history to reach 20 shutouts and 20 victories.
In addition to dominating defense, the USMNT has been electric offensively in the tournament. The Americans are coming off of back-to-back 6-0 wins and are breaking records for themselves. Their 13 goals scored in the group stage are the most for the team in Gold Cup Tournament play, breaking their record of 11 that was set in 2013 and matched in 2019. The offensive production is being led by Jesus Ferreira, who is performing at a historic clip. He is the first USMNT player to log hat tricks in back-to-back games, which he did in the team’s last two games against St. Kitts and Trinidad.
Meanwhile, Canada has been up and down, making it difficult to know which team you’re going to get. Its last two resulted in a 0-0 draw with Guatemala and a 4-2 comeback victory over Cuba after trailing 2-0 in the first half. Although sporadic, Canada has proven to be as good as anyone in spurts.
