Boo Carter committing to Tennessee over Michigan last month marked one of the biggest wins of the recruiting cycle for Josh Heupel and his staff.

Landing the four-star athlete was a major win on its own but Carter’s peer recruiting prowess could make the win even bigger for Tennessee.

A Chattanooga native, Carter knows a myriad of recruits in his class— especially prospects from Atlanta and the state of Tennessee. Since committing, Carter has been persistent recruiting his peers to Tennessee on-and-off social media.

Over the weekend, Carter tweeted an eight player wish list that he wants to sign with Tennessee. Let’s take a look at Carter’s wishlist.

Mike Matthews

Matthews is one of the top players in the country and one Carter has a personal relationship with. The Lilburn, Georgia native ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 13 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Matthews also ranks as the No. 4 receiver in the country and the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia.

Tennessee is facing tough competition to land the five star including Clemson, Georgia and USC.

Ryan Wingo

Another five-star receiver, Wingo ranks as the No. 23 player and No. 7 receiver in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Vols have long targeted the St. Louis native and are one of his top contenders.

Wingo is also considering Georgia, Texas, Missouri and Michigan.

Amari Jefferson

Another receiver, Jefferson is a Chattanooga native just like Carter. One of Tennessee’s top instate targets, Jefferson ranks as a four-star and the No. 209 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings.

While Jefferson is rated lower than Wingo and Matthews the competition to land him is just as strong. The Baylor School standout is down to a top three of Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.

Bennett Warren

Tennessee’s top remaining offensive tackle target, Warren is one of the most important recruits remaining on the Vols’ recruiting board. Warren ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 144 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings.

The Sugar Land, Texas native is considering Michigan, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

Kamarion Franklin

Franklin has long been one of Rodney Garner’s main targets in the 2024 recruiting cycle. The Mississippi native ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 45 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Franklin also ranks as the No. 8 defensive lineman in the country and the top player in the state of Mississippi.

The blue-chip recruit is considering a number of suitors including Auburn, Miami, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

Kai Bates

Cornerback is one of the weak spots of Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class but landing Bates could help change that. Bates ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 107 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings.

The Orlando, Florida native is down to two schools: LSU and Tennessee.

Jordan Ross

Another longtime Rodney Garner target on the defensive line, Ross is one of the top rated Tennessee targets. The Vestavia Hills, Alabama native ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 36 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings.

Florida and Georgia represent Tennessee’s biggest threats in its quest to land Ross.

DeMello Jones

A current Georgia commit, Jones ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 78 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings.

The Peach State safety unofficially visited Tennessee in May and officially visited in June.
