Ravens vs. Commanders Betting Preview, Best BetMGM Promotions

Lamar Jackson isn’t expected to suit up for the Ravens tonight, but the Ravens have won multiple preseason games during their streak without Jackson on the field. In fact, he didn’t play in their week 1 preseason game, and they found a way to win that one. In Jackson’s absence, Josh Johnson and Anthony Brown are expected to play a half.

The Ravens have an open battle for their starting running back, so they’ll be looking for ways to open the ground game in this one, which they struggled to do in week 1 of preseason action. They are up against a Commanders defense that was as good as it has been in years in 2022, especially against the rush. That should make it even more challenging for the Ravens to move the ball.

The Commanders were thought to have an open QB battle, but second-year player Sam Howell has been given the keys to the team over Jacoby Brissett and Jake Fromm. He is expected to get a good number of snaps in tonight’s contest against a Ravens’ defense that was not very good last year, which is unusual for a John Harbaugh-coached team.

The Ravens made a few defensive additions in the offseason, but still allowed 19 points to the Eagles with Tanner McKee and Marcus Mariota under center. McKee went 10-for-20 for 148 yards against the Ravens, leading three scoring drives. It’s just the preseason, but the Commanders will have much better QBs under center testing what looks to be another below average Ravens’ defense this year.

The Commanders are underdogs in this one and given the Ravens’ performance in week despite a win, it doesn’t seem Baltimore has the depth to keep its streak alive tonight. With a $1,000 first bet available with tonight’s BetMGM Bonus Code ROCKYBET, taking the Commanders on the Moneyline at +105 may be a great way to put it to use.
