Alvin Kamara Makes Saints Franchise History

Former Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara fell into the end zone from two yards out to give the New Orleans Saints a 14-0 lead over the New England Patriots.

A routine, ordinary touchdown at first glance but it marks Kamara’s 73rd touchdown as a New Orleans Saint. The mark makes him the new leading touchdown man in Saints’ franchise history.

The versatile running back has found the end zone in numerous ways in his seven-year NFL career. Kamara has 50 career rushing touchdowns, 22 career receiving touchdowns and one career kick return touchdown.

Kamara has had a stellar career with New Orleans after the Saints drafted him in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The former Tennessee running back has five Pro Bowl appearances thanks to 5,186 career rushing yards and 3,786 career receiving yards.

The seventh-year running back served a three-game suspension to open the season before totaling 84 total yards last week in a loss against Tampa Bay.

Kamara’s two-yard rushing touchdown was his first of the season and the one that put his name into the Saints’ franchise record books. Check out the touchdown run here.
