After two straight weeks of seven teams from the Southeastern Conference being ranked inside the AP Top 25 poll, only six teams land on the Week 7 edition of the rankings.

The SEC has now had six teams ranked in the Top 25 during Week 1, 2, 4, and 7 this college football season. Week 3 only saw five teams from the conference ranked while Weeks 5 and 6 had seven teams ranked.

Georgia had a very impressive showing against Kentucky over the weekend that solidified the Bulldogs’ top spot in the country after some less-than-dominant wins to start the season. Kentucky’s loss, meanwhile, dropped the Wildcats a few spots in the rankings as Kentucky now barely hangs on to their Top 25 slot.

Alabama did not move from their spot at No. 11 after defeating unranked Texas A&M in College Station by a score of 26-20. The Tide have been ranked between No. 10 and No. 13 for five straight weeks following their loss to Texas in the second week of the season.

Hanging on to a seven-point win against Arkansas over the weekend, Ole Miss moved up three spots in the rankings to No. 13.

Tennessee is interesting here. After moving down one spot following the victory over South Carolina last weekend, Tennessee moved up three spots to No. 19 in the country despite having an open date last weekend.

LSU’s big win on the road in Columbia over Missouri sent the (LSU) Tigers up one spot in the rankings while the (Missouri) Tigers dropped out of the rankings entirely – although, with the most votes received of any team not in the AP Top 25.
