Tennessee receiver Dont’e Thornton is out for the rest of the Vols’ week 11 matchup against Missouri after suffering a lower body injury in the second quarter according to the CBS broadcast.
Thornton suffered the injury on the same play he scored his first touchdown of his Tennessee career. The Oregon transfer made an impressive contested catch to haul in a 46-yard score.

Thornton played little for the first half of the season serving as Squirrel White’s backup in the slot. But Tennessee inserted Thornton into the starting lineup as a wide receiver against Kentucky. In just under 2.5 games as a starting receiver, Thornton caught six passes for 135 yards and the touchdown.
With Thornton sidelined the rest of the way, sophomore receivers Kaleb Webb and Chas Nimrod will step into a bigger role.
Missouri leads Tennessee 10-7 in the second quarter. This story will be updated if any further details are made available.
