VFLs in NFL Week 13: Alvin Kamara, Jauan Jennings Combine for Three Scores

Week 13 of the NFL season has officially concluded, and sixteen VFLs saw action in Week 13.

See how each former Vol fared in this past weekend’s action below.

S Micah Abernathy – Atlanta Falcons

Played 89 percent of special teams snaps in Atlanta’s 13-8 win over the Jets.

DE Derek Barnett – Houston Texans

Played 23 percent of defensive snaps and 9 percent of special teams snaps in his debut for the Texans against the Broncos.

DT Matthew Butler – Las Vegas Raiders

BYE WEEK

LS Morgan Cox – Tennessee Titans

Snapped for two successful field goal attempts and three extra point attempts, two of which were successful, and six punts in Tennessees 31-28 overtime loss to the Colts in Nashville.

QB Joshua Dobbs – Minnesota Vikings

BYE WEEK

TE/FB Princeton Fant – Dallas Cowboys

Played 54 percent of special teams snaps as he made his NFL debut in the Cowboys’ thrilling 41-35 win over the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football.

QB Hendon Hooker – Detroit Lions

Inactive as he remains on the NFI list still rehabbing his ACL injury. However, Hooker has been getting back on the practice field.

WR Jalin Hyatt – New York Giants

S Theo Jackson – Minnesota Vikings

BYE WEEK

WR Jauan Jennings – San Francisco 49ers

Caught three of four targets for 44 yards and one TD in the 49ers’ 42-19 road win over the Eagles. Jennings played 49 percent of offensive snaps and 15 percent of special teams snaps.

Jennings’ touchdown was certainly highlight-reel worthy, as he delivered a mean stiff arm before trotting in for six.

LB Alexander Johnson – Miami Dolphins

On the practice squad.

FB Jakob Johnson – Las Vegas Raiders

WR/PR Velus Jones Jr. – Chicago Bears

BYE WEEK

RB Alvin Kamara – New Orleans Saints

Recorded 14 carries for 51 yards and two touchdowns while adding six catches on eight targets for 58 yards in the Saints’ close loss to Detroit.

Kamara once again served as the focal point for the Saints offense and played 58 percent (39 total) offensive snaps.

RB John Kelly Jr. – Cleveland Browns

On the practice squad.

OL Cade Mays – Carolina Panthers

Played 1 offensive snap and two special teams snaps (7 percent) in the Panthers’ 21-18 loss to the Buccaneers on the road.

CB Emmanuel Moseley – Detroit Lions

OUT FOR THE SEASON

WR Joshua Palmer – Los Angeles Chargers

Did not play as he remains on injured reserve due to a knee injury. He has a chance to return in Week 14.

RB Cordarrelle Patterson – Atlanta Falcons

Saw five carries for 11 yards and caught one of two targets for six yards. Patterson played 31 percent of offensive snaps and 11 percent of special teams snaps.

DE Kyle Phillips – New Orleans Saints

Was inactive against the Lions.

LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin – Detroit Lions

Logged six total tackles, three solo, one QB hit and one pass deflection while playing 30 percent of defensive snaps. Reeves-Maybin also played 83 percent of special teams snaps as the Lions’ ST captain.

OG Trey Smith – Kansas City Chiefs

Played every offensive snap at starting right guard for the Chiefs in their 27-19 loss against the Packers. Smith also played 14 percent of special teams snaps (three total).

CB Cameron Sutton – Detroit Lions

Recorded two tackles, one solo, and one pass deflection while playing 96 percent of defensive snaps as a starting cornerback for the Lions in their 33-28 win over New Orleans.

CB Alontae Taylor – New Orleans Saints

Logged three total tackles, two solo, and played 98 percent of defensive snaps in the loss to Detroit as a starting defensive back along with three percent of special teams snaps (three total).

DE Darrell Taylor – Seattle Seahawks

Recorded two tackles, both solo, logged a sack for the second straight game, had a TFL, two QB hits and played 40 percent of defensive snaps as a rotational defensive end for the Seahawks in their loss to Dallas.

Taylor also played 21 percent of special teams snaps on Thursday Night Football against the Cowboys.

WR Cedric Tillman – Cleveland Browns

Continued to see an uptick in playing time and ultimately saw plenty of snaps with number one wide receiver Amari Cooper suffering an injury.

Tillman caught two of a career-high six targets for 20 yards and played 93 percent of offensive snaps in Cleveland’s 36-19 loss to the Rams on the road.

DL Shy Tuttle – Carolina Panthers

Recorded four tackles, one solo, and played 47 percent of defensive snaps as a starting defensive tackle for Carolina in their three-point loss to Tampa Bay.

Tuttle also played 10 percent of special teams snaps.

DT Kendal Vickers – Arizona Cardinals

On the practice squad.

OT Darnell Wright – Chicago Bears

BYE WEEK

DE Byron Young – Los Angeles Rams

Continued his stellar rookie season by filling the stat sheet in the Rams’ win over the Browns.

Young totaled five tackles, four solo, one TFL, and played 90 percent of defensive snaps along with six percent of special teams snaps as a starting defensive end in the win.
