How Tennessee Football’s Outgoing Transfers Fared in the 2023 Season

Now that the 2023 college football regular season has concluded, let’s take a look at how all 13 of Tennessee football’s outgoing transfers from the 2023 offseason fared in their new homes.

All of their season stat lines, excluding offensive linemen RJ Perry (South Florida) and Will Parker (UAB) are below.

WR Jimmy Calloway –Louisville

19 receptions, 234 yards, 0 TD, 3 carries, 20 yards

-Recorded a stat in 9/12 games

TE Miles Campbell – NC Central

2 receptions, 34 yards, 1 TD, 3 ST tackles, two solo.

-Appeared in 9/12 games

WR Jimmy Holiday – Western Kentucky

16 receptions, 233 yards, 2 TD

-Recorded a stat in 8/12 games

QB Tayven Jackson – Indiana

Completed 78 of 128 passes for 914 yards, 2 TD and 5 INT along with 28 rushes for -21 yards and 1 TD. Got sacked 8 times.

-Started four games. Recorded a stat in 6/12. Was benched after Week 7 for Brendan Sorsby for the rest of the season.

WR Nigel Lanier – Grambling State

Returned two kickoffs for 31 yards and logged one special teams tackle along with one pass deflection.

-Saw time in six games in his first year with the Tigers.

DL Amari McNeill – Colorado

Recorded 31 tackles, 22 solo, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and one pass deflection as a starting defensive lineman for Colorado all season.

-Played in all 12 games and logged a stat in 10 of 12.

WR Walker Merrill  – Wake Forest

Did not log a stat all season as he dealt with injuries in his first year at Wake Forest.

DB Cameron Miller – Memphis

Recorded three tackles, one solo, in his first year at Memphis.

-Logged a stat in 3/12 games for the Tigers.

LB Juwan Mitchell – Colorado

Tallied 32 tackles, 21 solo, in his first year at Colorado. Recorded a stat in 7/12 games for Colorado. Didn’t play in the majority of the games in the back half of the season due to disciplinary reasons.

-Recorded a season-high 15 tackles in the Buffs’ thrilling overtime win over Colorado State in Week 3.

DL Jordan Phillips – Maryland

Accounted for 27 tackles, 14 solo, in his first season with the Terrapins as a starting defensive lineman.

-Phillips recorded a stat in 11/12 games. Played in all 12.

DL Da’Jon Terry – Oklahoma

Racked up 17 total tackles, six solo, and one sack in his first year with the Sooners.

-Recorded a stat in 10/12 games, played in all 12 as a rotational defensive lineman.

RB Justin Williams-Thomas – Cal

Served as a complimentary back upon return from injury, totaling 20 carries for 92 yards and one catch for seven yards in five games.

-Williams-Thomas got a touch in all five games he played in this season while also averaging 4.6 yards per carry on his 20 totes.

RB Len’Neth Whitehead – Georgia

Whitehead was not utilized by the Bulldogs this season and thus did not log a stat.
