The start to the early signing period is less than a week away beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 14 and ending on Friday, Dec. 16.

Tennessee currently sits at 19 commits less than a week away from the start of the early signing period and doesn’t have any highly ranked targets left on its recruiting board.

Josh Heupel and his staff are in the midst of a bad recruiting run. The Vols haven’t landed a commit since late August when five-star edge rusher Jordan Ross committed to Tennessee. Just in the last week, five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton committed to Colorado over Tennessee and longtime Vols’ tight end commit Jonathan Echols flipped his commitment to South Florida.

With Echols out of the fold, Tennessee’s 19 commit recruiting class includes two five-stars, 11 four-stars and six three-stars. The Vols’ recruiting class contains one quarterback, one running back, two receivers, one tight end, five offensive linemen, four defensive linemen, two linebackers, three defensive backs and one recruit classified as an “athlete”.

So where does Tennessee’s recruiting class rank ahead of the home stretch of the 2023 cycle? Check it out here.

* Note: Oklahoma and Texas are included in the SEC rankings (both rank ahead of Tennessee on all three sites)
