Tennessee made the cut for four-star offensive lineman Devin Harper over the weekend.
Harper’s Top 10 includes Georgia, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, Mississippi State, and Tennessee.
Harper ranks as a four-star prospect across all recruiting publications and is currently listed as the No. 125 player in the nation, the No. 6 interior offensive lineman in the class of 2025, and the third-ranked player from the state of Louisiana according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman plays his high school ball in Shreveport, Louisiana.
While Tennessee will fight hard in the battle for Harper’s recruitment, it looks as though everyone is chasing the home-state Tigers in the race. On3 Sports’ Recruiting Prediction Machine has LSU as the overwhelming favorite to land Harper at 98.9 percent. Predictions are just predictions after all, but it does tell a fascinating story early on.

Speaking of LSU, though, the Vols are looking to land former LSU offensive lineman Lance Heard out of the transfer portal and recently received a prediction to do so from On3 Sports. Heard was the No. 16 player in the country from the class of 2023 during his recruitment.
The Vols are still looking for their first commit from the offensive line in the class of 2025. Tennessee currently has five commits in the class so far with three cornerbacks, one running back, and one tight end. Four-star tight end Jack VanDorselaer (Southlake, TX) is currently the highest-rated prospect in the Vols’ class.
Tennessee picked up five offensive linemen in the class of 2024 including four-star OT Bennett Warren, four-star OT Max Anderson, four-star IOL William Satterwhite, three-star OT Jesse Perry, and three-star IOL Gage Ginther.
The Vols lost four offensive linemen to the portal this offseason and are still looking to bring in someone from the portal, such as Heard. Tennessee’s departures from the line include OT Gerald Mincey (Kentucky), IOL Connor Meadows (Tennessee State), IOL Mo Clipper (Charlotte), and IOL Addison Nichols (Arkansas).
While it’s still very early in the cycle, Tennessee’s 2025 class sits at No. 12 in the nation, one spot below Oregon and one spot above Michigan. The Vols’ class ranks sixth in the SEC behind No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 4 Auburn, No. 6 Alabama, and No. 7 Georgia.
