Tennessee basketball star senior Dalton Knecht joined an elite shortlist of all-time Tennessee basketball greats with his latest 30+ point game in the Vols’ 63-59 loss to South Carolina Tuesday night.

Knecht scored 31 points, giving him four 30+ point games in his last five and five overall 30-point efforts this season.

With five 30-point games, Knecht has joined six other Vols to do so in a single season.

As the tweet from Tennessee basketball SID Alex Schwartz notes above, Knecht joins Chris Lofton, Ernie Grunfeld, Dale Ellis, Bernard King, Tony White and Allan Houston as Vols to record five 30-point games in a single season.

Houston, King and White all did so three separate times in their illustrious careers.

Additionally, Knecht is one of 12 Vols to ever have five 30-point games in a career, and he’s done so in just 20 games.

Knecht’s record-breaking season continues to put him rarified air among the Tennessee basketball greats. We’ll see if he can lead Tennessee to a bounce back effort Saturday when the Vols travel to Lexington to face off against rival Kentucky.

In the latest High & Tight presented by Gambuzza’s Barbershop, RTI takes a look at Knecht’s latest accomplishment.
