Women’s Final Four South Carolina vs. NC State odds: Gamecocks are double-digit favorites

The South Carolina Gamecocks enter the Final Four with a 36-0 record on the season. They enter Friday’s matchup against NC State playing dominating basketball, as they have had little trouble with their four tournament opponents thus far. South Carolina’s only close game of the tournament came in the Sweet 16 against Indiana, where they won 79-75. They beat their other three opponents by 52, 47, and 22 points.

On the other side, the Wolfpack of NC State are riding a magical tournament run that they hope will continue with a trip to the title game. In order to get to the Final Four, NC State took down the No. 6, 2, and 1 seeds in their region. After handling Chattanooga in the opening round, NC State defeated Tennessee by 7 in the Round of 32, Stanford by 10 in the Sweet 16, and Texas by 10 in the Elite Eight. Those wins have the Wolfpack playing with a ton of confidence.

Oddsmakers are favoring the Gamecocks in this matchup. More specifically, the Gamecocks find themselves as 11.5-point favorites over the Wolfpack on DraftKings Sportsbook. They have odds of -900 on the moneyline, while NC State has odds of +600 to pull off the upset. The total, or over/under, is listed at 139.5.

Even with NC State’s impressive tournament hot streak, it’s tough to go against South Carolina in this spot. Dawn Staley’s group has been the best team in the country for most of the season, and they present a tough matchup across the board for NC State. But what really sets the Gamecocks apart is their elite defensive play. They are allowing just 56.0 points per game this season, and they rarely give up offensive rebounds to their opponents. Without second chance opportunities on the offensive end, NC State could have trouble putting points on the board.

In addition, the Gamecocks are hungry to avenge last year’s Final Four loss to Iowa. Staley will have her group ready, and as they aim to capture their third national title, look for the Gamecocks to keep their foot on the gas in this one en route to a big victory. Consider backing South Carolina -11.5.

Women’s National Championship odds: South Carolina eyes undefeated season

In addition to being heavily favored in their Final Four matchup against NC State, the Gamecocks are the heavy favorites in the national championship betting market. With odds of -210, South Carolina is by far and away the odds-on favorite to win it all. The team with the second-best odds is Iowa at +300. UConn follows at +700, and NC State rounds out the field at +1500.

Showing just how dominant the Gamecocks have been this season, FanDuel Sportsbook even has a “South Carolina vs The Field” betting market available. There, the Gamecocks have odds of -210 to win it all, while The Field is +170.

Iowa and UConn battle in the other Final Four game on Friday night. Oddsmakers are giving the edge to Iowa, but not by much. Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes are slight 2.5-point favorites on most sports betting platforms.

When betting on the 2024 Women’s March Madness Final Four, keep in mind that odds are subject to change up until tip-off. In addition, odds can vary from sportsbook to sportsbook, so be sure to shop around at different betting platforms to make sure you are getting the best available odds for your bets.
