Lakers guard Dalton Knecht showed the NBA Summer League a hint of his athleticism during a California Classic game on Sunday evening in San Francisco.

Tennessee fans were treated to their first big Knecht dunk against Michigan State in an exhibition game during the preseason but saw several more throughout the season. The Summer League saw its first on Sunday night.

With just about a minute gone by in the second half of the game, Knecht’s teammate found him cutting through the lane and into traffic in the paint. Knecht soared through the air off the pass and threw down the ball with four Warriors defenders all converged in the paint.

Knecht, the 17th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, made his summer league debut on Saturday night in the California Classic. While the former Vol recorded 12 points and four assists in the game, Knecht struggled to shoot on just 3-of-12 from the floor and 5-of-9 from the free throw line. Despite the poor shooting Knecht still found his shot with a similar offensive game to what was successful at Tennessee.

Knecht’s shooting struggles have continued on Sunday but he has been more efficient at the line. Through three quarters against the Warriors, Knecht has 12 points on 3-of-13 shooting from the floor but is 5-of-5 shooting from the free-throw line.

Knecht’s former teammate Santiago Vescovi is playing off the bench for the Warriors and has six points on 3-of-3 shooting through three quarters.
