An Alabama fan by the call name of “Legend” delivered one of the great rants in sports talk history this week after the Crimson Tide’s shocking upset loss to Vanderbilt in Nashville on Saturday evening.
The college football world was turned upside down after Vanderbilt’s win with the No. 1 team in the country going down just seven days after, arguably, the best on-paper win of the season over Georgia.
Legend’s rant is plenty warranted, too. Prior to the loss on Saturday night, Alabama had won 23 straight games over the Commodores dating back to the 1985 season. Legend had new head coach Kalen Deboer squarely in his sights during his call as he berated the unacceptable loss.
The call-in on the Paul Finebaum show is long but substantial. Legend’s call brings in the passion of SEC football with a hint of redneck (I say that in an endearing way) comedy sprinkled in that can only be found in the South. You know what I mean, “doooode”?
