Tennessee football is wearing its traditional home uniforms with white helmers, orange jerseys and white pants for its Saturday night rivalry matchup against Florida, the Vols announced on X Thursday morning.

It’s the first time that Tennessee has worn its traditional home uniforms this season. In its first two home games of the year, Tennessee wore Smokey Grey uniforms and all orange uniforms. So far this season, the Vols are 1-0 in its smokey grey uniforms, 2-0 in its all white stormtrooper uniforms, 1-0 in its white helmets, orange jerseys and orange pants combination and 0-1 in its white jerseys and orange pants.
Tennessee’s orange jerseys on white pants will match the crowd on Saturday as the Vols are checkering Neyland Stadium for its annual Checker Neyland game. The Vols are 2-1 in Checker Neyland games against Florida all time with wins over the Gators in 2016 and 2022 and losses in 2014.

Florida is wearing orange helmets, white jerseys and blue pants in the rivalry matchup. The Gators announced their uniform combination before the season. It’s the same uniform combination that both teams wore during the 2022 matchup between the two teams when Tennessee earned a 38-33 win at Neyland Stadium.
It’s a massive matchup between the two rivals in Knoxville. Coming of its loss at Arkansas, Tennessee (4-1, 1-1 SEC) badly needs a win to remain in the College Football Playoff hunt. Florida (3-2, 1-1 SEC) is coming off two straight wins after a disastrous start to the season. Billy Napier badly needs an upset win to help keep his job as his seat is one of the hottest in the entire country.
Kickoff between Tennessee and Florida is at 7 p.m. ET at Neyland Stadium on Saturday night. Bob Wischusen, Louis Riddick and Kris Budden are on the call for ESPN.
