Tennessee Basketball Back On One-Line In Latest Bracketology Update

Despite losing three of its last five games, Tennessee basketball is back on the one-line in latest bracketology updates ahead of the Vols’ Wednesday night matchup against Missouri.

Tennessee has moved up despite its shaky recent play because the struggles of other teams around them. Iowa State has lost three straight games, Houston lost at home against Texas Tech and Tennessee knocked off Florida on Saturday.

According to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi, Tennessee is currently projected to be the fourth one-seed landing in the West Region. The ESPN bracketology has Tennessee playing 16-seed Central Connecticut in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Raleigh.

In the ESPN projection, Tennessee would face the winner of the Clemson-West Virginia in the Round of 32. The Vols would then head out west to San Fransisco for the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament. Other top seeds in Tennessee’s region include two-seed Iowa State, three-seed Texas A&M, four-seed Wisconsin and five-seed Missouri.

Lunardi is currently projecting 13 SEC teams to make the tournament including one-seed Auburn, one-seed Alabama, two-seed Florida, three-seed Kentucky, three-seed Texas A&M, five-seed Ole Miss, five-seed Missouri, seven-seed Mississippi State, nine-seed Texas, nine-seed Oklahoma, 10-seed Vanderbilt and 11-seed Georgia.

Tennessee is also on the one-line in CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm‘s most recent bracketology update. The Vols are a one-seed in the West Region and will face 16-seed Bryant in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

Palm has Tennessee playing the first weekend of the tournament in Raleigh and facing the winner of UConn-New Mexico in the Round of 32.

Other top seeds in the West Region include two-seed Texas A&M, three-seed Iowa State, four-seed Memphis and five-seed Texas Tech. SEC foe Mississippi State is also in the west region in Palm’s bracketology updates.

Tennessee has an opportunity to add two more Quad 1 wins this week as they host Missouri in Knoxville on Wednesday and then head to Norman to face Oklahoma on Saturday.
