No. 4 Tennessee earned a massive 85-81 win over No. 15 Missouri on Wednesday night in the Food City Center.
The Volunteers’ win on Wednesday marked Tennessee’s second straight win over AP Top 15 teams as the Vols beat No. 5 Florida last weekend in Knoxville.
After scoring just 28 points in the first half, Tennessee’s offense found a needed spark in the second half with a lineup featuring Zakai Zeigler, Jordan Gainey, and Chaz Lanier. The Vols rattled off 57 second-half points against the Tigers to earn the conference victory.
Zeigler and Igor Milicic Jr., two players who missed Saturday’s game against Florida with injury and illness, carried much of Tennessee’s scoring as they both finished with 21 points. Zeigler also tallied eight assists on the night while Milicic added 10 rebounds for the double-double.
