Igor Milicic Jr. (7) celebrates a three-pointer during a game against Missouri at Food City Center. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025.

Tennessee forward Igor Milicic has perhaps the complete skillset of any player on this season’s Volunteer team. At 6-foot-10, Milicic can shoot the ball from the perimeter, has strong floor vision and has the size to rebound and defend the rim.

Using his versatile skillset, Milicic did something that no basketball player at the division one or professional era has done this century.

The senior forward became the first player to score 20-plus points on 75/50/75 shooting splits in addition to totaling 10-plus rebounds, five-plus assists, four-plus blocks and two-plus steals in a single game according to OptaSTATS.

Milicic cleared all those specific statistic barriers by generally small margins in Tennessee’s 85-81 win over Missouri.

Tennessee’s starting power forward tied a game-high 21 points on eight-of-10 shooting from the field, two-of-three shooting from three-point range and three-of-four shooting from the foul line. His offensive production was huge for the Vols as they struggled to score in the second half and during their second half explosion to overcome a double-digit deficit.

“He’s a low time-of-possession guy,” Missouri coach Dennis Gates said of Milicic postgame. “Doesn’t require the ball in his hands for multiple seconds of a shot clock. He’s effective. He was 8-for-10 from the field, was able to knock down free throws, knock down threes.”

Milicic also dished out five assists while grabbing 10 rebounds and totaling four blocks and two assists.

The big performance marked Milicic’s fourth double-double of the season and he’s flirted with a number of others. Milicic does a multitude of important things for Tennessee. He leads the team in rebounding, ranks fourth on the team in scoring, second in assists and third in blocks.

Consistency has been the issue for Milicic particularly in SEC play. He’s scored over 15 points in three of the nine SEC games he’s played in including each of his last two games. The two games before that, Milicic totaled just four points in a loss at Auburn and three points in a win over Mississippi State.

Tennessee is a different team when they get production for Milicic on both sides of the court. The senior forward will look to keep his hot streak going as the Vols travel to Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon.
